RE at Harlescott Junior School

At Harlescott Junior School we believe that Religious Education can be a major contributor to children’s spiritual, moral, social and cultural development as well as support their understanding of British Values. During their 4 years at Harlescott Junior school all pupils will learn about the 6 religions of the world; Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Sikhism and Hinduism and consider how these beliefs would influence a person of faith. All topics have an enquiry based approach, allowing pupils to engage, investigate, evaluate and express their own opinions.

Pupils take part in a SMSC assembly every two weeks, which reflects on religious celebrations around the world, including Rosh Hashanah, Christmas, Diwali and Easter. They also enjoy assemblies from Reverend Salmon on a termly basis as well as celebrating Harvest, Armistice day and Christmas with him at Church.
